CNBLUE tops Billboard’s World Albums Chart


After sweeping off the local music charts, CNBLUE has now topped the Billboard World Albums Chart!

According to latest Billboard Chart rankings issued on January 25, CNBLUE’s fourth mini album ‘Re:BLUE’ topped the Billboard’s World Albums Chart. This is the first time for the group to top the chart.

In addition, CNBLUE’s latst mini album ranked #22 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums.

‘Re:BLUE’ which stands for rebirth of a new CNBLUE, includes six songs all of which were composed by the band members. The title track “I’m Sorry” is a CNBLUE style, modern rock number which was penned and composed by the leader Yonghwa.

Super Junior-M tops Billboard World Album Chart


Super Junior-M, a subgroup comprising core members of popular boy band Super Junior, topped the U.S. Billboard World Albums chart for the week ending January 26 with ‘Break Down’.

The second release made by the subunit of the Hallyu boy band also ranked 49th on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

The group was formed specifically to target the Chinese-speaking world and the songs on their second album were performed in Mandarin Chinese.

A spokesperson from SM Entertainment, “It’s unprecedented for an album recorded in Chinese to do so well on the Billboard charts.”

Girls’ Generation tops Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 and World Albums charts


After sweeping local music charts, Girls’ Generation also dominated both Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 and World Albums Charts with their latest album, ‘I Got A Boy’!

According to updated chart figures on Billboard, Girls’ Generation’s 4th full album ‘I Got A Boy’, which was released on January 1, ranked first on the World Albums Chart, proving its global popularity.

The group also stormed to the top of Billboard’s K-Pop Hot 100 kicking off the six-week dominance of Lee Seung Gi. Girls’ Generation’s title song “I Got A Boy” moved in to the number one spot after spending the previous week at number two.
