Yoon Doojoon, “BEAST members are friends I have known for a long time”

Being an idol in Korea is like living the lives of many other people compressed into one. They usually debut in their late 10s and by their early 20s, they either reach their maximum potential or just fade away. In addition, when a group reaches a certain high point, the members start to move on to their solo activities and by the time they make their name well known doing solo activities, new rookie idol groups appear. Debuting is hard, gaining popularity is even harder, and prospering in the long run is almost a miracle. Yoon Doojoon, who is in the group BEAST, hitting their 5th year since their debut, has survived that life and continues to live that life. BEAST has now become a group that performs overseas proudly and the amount of solo activities has increased to the point that now it’s hard to see them together. In addition, Yoon Doojoon is now appearing on KBS after his debut project MBC . Idol to actor, changing from a sitcom to a blockbuster sequel drama, no matter what the result is, there must be a big change going on in his life right now. We listened to the changes Yoon Doojoon’s experiences as an idol and the challenges he will experience as an actor.

From viewer to ’s main role

“A few days ago I saw the main set for the NSS headquarters in and oh man, it was amazing. It was as if I came on a tour to a drama filming site. (laughs) I watched the first with a lot of enjoyment and now that I get to be in that drama… every thing is so new. Personally I also like the movie and the American drama <24>. I am playing the role of agent Seo Hyunwoo in his late 20s and first of all, there isn’t any problem with the image. Because I look like I am in my late 20s anyways. (laughs) Even though this character is bright and cheery like me, I don’t think we resemble each other on the basis that he is intelligent and has a variety of skills. (laughs).”

Sitcom to Blockbuster

“I am realizing a lot of things I didn’t know about when I was filming the sitcom as I am filming . I think a lot about the details. For sitcoms, the story ends every episode so my role position changes each time when I am filming. Since my role position ends and starts new every episode, I didn’t think too much about the details. But in the sunbaenims prepare every word, movement, walk, and tone and bring it to set with them. Seeing that in front of my eyes, I don’t believe that I should continue acting the way I have been acting. I am really pressured participating in such a blockbuster film. It’s true that more people watch it with interest. Through my acting I think that the viewers might either like the drama or dislike it more. I think that I should accept what I need to accept and give up what I need to give up. Challenging myself is my job.”

From BEAST leader to youngest

“I really don’t know what to do with so much kindness from the actors even though this is my first drama. Even though I didn’t film many dramas, I know that the filming set isn’t always so great like it is at this drama’s filming set. Jang Hyuk sunbaenim, Lee Bumsoo sunbaenim, Lee Dahae sunbaenim, and others teach me a lot. Of course about acting, but also about life. Not like do this and do that, but like, “I tried this a certain way and it was better.” I try to absorb everything I can and I work really hard. (laughs) Lee Dahae sunbaenim worried a lot about how my character could just end up becoming a messenger if I didn’t show off enough manliness. Because of others who worry this much about me, I am able to act with a happy heart.”

From the rookie group to the professional group BEAST

“Now that I think about it, it has been already 5 years since debut. In that time, so many things have changed to the point that I can’t even believe it. Some idols disappeared, the image that people have of idols have changed too. But I believe that in the midst of all this change, the experiences that I am going through right now will be the most help to me later in life. If something goes wrong or doesn’t go the way I want, I believe that these experiences would turn in to a force that keeps me going. In addition, in between all that time, I think the relationship between the BEAST members changed as well. In the past, I used to ask them for advice, but now I think we are past that stage. Because now, we each understand the different lifestyle of other members. When we each finish our schedules and meet up we would complain about the things that happened during our day and the other members would say, “there there” and end up comforting each other. Nothing more nothing less. Always. (laughs) There isn’t a reason how this came to be. In other words, we just became really comfortable with each other. And after all that busy talk we just end up talking about food. (laughs) Now we became the friends who continually met up for a long period of time. Even though we each have separate schedules now, we were always together since debut and now, we’ve become comfortable people for each other. Sometimes they (BEAST) are even more comfortable than family.”

Back to Yoon Doojoon

“I don’t think I can say right now how I changed by participating in . Even though it sounds bad when I say that it is an investment for the future, but through everything I did so far, my future will change. To be honest, I don’t expect anything out of myself through this project. More than anything, I hope that I am able to fit into the drama well so that others can enjoy the drama as a whole. As the viewers are watching there are going to be awkward and strange parts, but I hope that they will be able to see Seo Hyunwoo through my acting. It is my priority to become an actor who fits into the flow of the drama.”

BEAST Yoseob, “I’ve received a confession from a female idol before”

Idol group BEAST’s Yang Yoseob has revealed that he received a confession from a female idol before.

In the recent recording for ‘Beatles Code 2′, Yang Yoseob has revealed a story about receiving a confession from a female idol.

As Yoseob reveals, MC Shindong asked, “Were you not interested in that celebrity?”.

Yoseob responded, “I do like her, but I was scared” and, “I don’t think I can handle meeting a celebrity anyhow. I don’t want to hurt her and her members”, he expressed.

Yang Yoseob then followed with, “Up till now, I’m still close with that female idol”. In order to reveal more about the girl member, the MCs then asked a ton of questions. MC Jang DongMin asked, “She uses a Korean name? Or an English name?”, causing Yoseob to be in a panic state.

BTOB Jung IlHoon, Watches Sister Joo – BEAST Dongwoon’s Musical

BTOB Jung IlHoon has shown his support for his biological sister Joo and senior in the same company, BEAST’s Son Dongwoon.

Joo posted on her twitter, “Today is Frank-Son and my first stage! Iruni (IlHoon) too, came and watched too. Took a picture of 3 of us! And a sticker over my messed up hair because of the wig. Thanks to all those who came and watch the show. Dongwoonie, hwaiting for the evening performance too!”, while attaching along a picture.

In the picture, Joo’s brother BTOB’s Jung IlHoon and BEAST’s Son Dongwoon were seen posing a ‘V’ sign. It was known that Jung IlHoon came to support both his sister and senior of the same company.

Joo and Son Dongwoon’s are currently acting as the male and female lead for the musical, titled ’Catch me if you can’

BEAST Jun Hyung, Completed writing the rap lyrics for ’5! My Baby’ in 10 minutes an issue!

It is said that BEAST’s member Yong Jun Hyung had completed writing the rap part lyrics for ’5! My Baby’ in almost 10 minutes, shocking A PINK and other representatives.

School uniform brand – Skool Looks – revealed the behind-the-scenes to the song, ’5! My Baby’, which was sang by endorsement models BEAST and A PINK, and was released on the 7th.

‘Yong Jun Hyung’, who is famous for being a capable singer excelling in music and lyrics composition, was initially inconvenienced by ’5! My Baby”s existing rap part and hence, took the lead first by displaying his drive, as he actively gave his detailed opinions on the complete revision of the rap lyrics; ’5! My Baby’ was a song prepared as a collaboration with BEAST and A PINK.

The part that ‘Yong Jun Hyung’ personally composed came out in the middle section, in English, “Let’s ride on this track! Keep dancing, Keep grooving. Let’s ride with me.” The insertion of the rap lyrics expressed the lightheartedness of the song.

IRIS 2′ Stronger-than-expected, Anticipate BEAST's DooJoon

BEAST’s Yoon Doojoon has amazed the production crew.

Yoon Doojoon is currently filming for KBS2 new drama,  ’IRIS 2′ as an elite agent Seo HyunWoo.

Although Yoon Doojoon has yet to have much air time, but every time he shoots for the drama, his passion on the set can be seen. Representative of ‘IRIS 2′ spoke to TV Daily on the 14th, “Yoon Doojoon is a sensible and clever friend. He is also a fast learner and grasps things really fast. Moreover, he’s very polite” and,  ”Since it was Yoon Doojoon’s first challenge, many were quite worried too, but he achieved more than what the crew expected. He indeed played his role with the best shape on”, they expressed.

Another representative too commented, “Because of Yoon Doojoon’s passion for the production, he worked without showing any signs of tiredness and even smiled on the filming set” and, ” Through ‘IRIS 2′, Yoon Doojoon’s new charms will be discovered and another level of his acting skills can be seen.”

In previous showcase, Yoon Doojoon expressed, “‘IRIS 2′ has really left a strong impression, and because of that, I feel burdened. Therefore, I’m preparing very hard in action school and on the shooting field” and, “I feel warm for BEAST members gave lots of support to me. As I think of the members, I shall work even harder, I will do the best to avoid any flaws”.

Yoon Doojoon who has showcased his acting capabilities by appearing in MBC Sitcoms ‘Charming by the Day’, ‘All My Love’, drama ‘A Thousand Kisses’, JTBC’s ‘Living in CheongDamDong’, movie ‘Return of the Family’ and more, is to hold his actor idol title through ‘IRIS 2′ again.

‘IRIS 2’ releases character posters

KBS has unveiled the character posters of the ‘IRIS 2’ cast.

The seven character poster cuts showed the drama’s main actors in character for the spy thriller drama. The posters feature Jang Hyuk (Jung Yu Gun), Lee Da Hae (Ji Soo Yeon), Lee Bum Soo( Yoo Joong Won), Oh Yeon Seo (Choi Min), Yoon Doojoon (Seo Hyun Woo), Lim Soo Hyang (Kim Yeon Hwa), and Lee Jun(Yoon Si Hyuk), and each of them are showing explosive charisma.

All donning black outfits and handguns, the cast members each showcase their powerful yet charismatic poses, increasing many people’s expectations on the story of the series.

‘IRIS 2’ will premiere on February 13th after the conclusion of ‘Jeon Woo Chi’.

Hottest K-pop acts ready for Golden Disk gig in KL

Excitement is building up barely a week before the biggest K-pop event hits our shores.

The Samsung Galaxy The 27th Golden Disk Awards in Kuala Lumpur will be rocking the Sepang International Circuit over two nights next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Founded in 1986, the Golden Disk Awards, dubbed the Grammys of Korea, is South Korea's most prestigious K-pop awards show and is presented annually for outstanding achievements in the music industry.

Hosted by Mediartncomm Co Ltd, supported by the Malaysia Con- vention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and presented by Samsung Malaysia Electronics as title sponsor, the music awards will see 25 of K-pop's hottest acts in Malaysia next week.

The earliest acts will arrive on Sunday night. They are members of the boy bands SHINee and BTOB.

Monday will see the arrival of 10 acts: Exo (in two batches), Infinite (first batch), 4Minute, B1A4, Beast, Super Junior, CN Blue, FT Island, Juniel and Kara.

Fourteen acts will fly in on Tuesday, the first day of the awards. They are Infinite (second batch), Secret, Heo Gak, Lee Ha Yi, Ailee, Epik High, T-ara, Sistar (first batch), G-Dragon, f(x), K.Will, Miss A, B.A.P, and Teen Top.

The remaining members of girl group Sistar will arrive only on Wednesday.

As for the show's hosts, CN Blue's Yong Hwa and Kara's Nicole will be emceeing on the first night while FT Island's Hong Ki and Sistar's Dasom will host the show on the second night.

Fans can expect over 70 songs during the two-night gig, including hits such as Super Junior's Sexy, Free & Single, G-Dragon's One Of A Kind, FT Island's I Wish, Beast's Fiction, 4Minute's Mirror, CN Blue's Intuition, Epik High's Light It Up and Lee Ha Yi's Mamadu.

The main entrance to the venue will be open for fans to start queueing at 2.30pm. The Samsung Galaxy zone entrance opens at 4.30pm for ticket holders to access the red carpet event, which starts at 5pm.

Rockpit and Hallyu zone entrances will open at 6pm.

The awards show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at RM199 (Hallyu zone) and RM999 (Samsung Galaxy zone). Tickets to the Rockpit zone (RM688) have already been sold out while limited tickets remain for other zones.

BEAST's Yoseob Confessed, “Earnings from Solo promotions too, are shared among BEAST members”

Idol group BEAST’s member, Yang Yoseob revealed that the earnings from his solo promotions are divided among the members.

On the broadcast of Weekly Idol, Yang Yoseob who is promoting his solo track ‘Caffeine’ has appeared on the show.

On this day, MC Jung HyungDon and Defconn jokingly introduced Yang Yoseob and expressed, “If the song is to hit jackpot, he’ll be standing at a crossroad whether to split from his group.”

Towards this, MCs asked a mischievous question, “Isn’t BEAST made up of Yang Yoseob and 5 idols? Your earning should be good since you do both group and solo activities, isn’t it?”. Yang Yoseob responded, “Many people might misunderstand, but BEAST’s earnings are still divided by N people.” Listening to Yoseob’s honest respond, MCs Jung HyungDon and Defconn jokingly acted out an angry scene and said, “Member Yoon Doojoon does nothing but play soccer everyday. If there isn’t for Yang Yoseob, how would BEAST hit the high notes?” flattering Yang Yoseob.

Yoseob added, “It’s not like that. Till now, I’m the one who is receiving.” Despite showing his close loyalty for the members, Jung HyungDon was undeterred and said, “You should be voted as leader, cut off Yoon Doojoon,” causing laughter on the set.

BEAST’s member Yoon Doojoon has transformed into an elite agent.

Yang Yoseob, Concluding Solo Promotions, ‘Caffeine Date with Fans’

The success of  BEAST Yang Yoseob’s solo promotion has led to a one day date with fans.

A representative from Cube Entertainment spoke to ‘Sports Seoul’ on the 9th has expressed, “In order to thank fans who gave support for Yang Yoseob’s solo promotions, we will be holding a tea time event”. This event is then revealed to be named after his solo title track, ‘Caffeine’, that is, ‘Caffeine Time’.

Those who will have a date with Yang Yoseob will be chosen among 1000 fans who came and supported him for his public broadcast during his promotion period. The exact number of fans and its scale have yet to be set. The agency will soon contact those who are selected.

Yang Yoseob who started his promotions on last December has charted on various charts and gained good responses. Yang Yoseob has concluded his promotions on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ which was broadcast on the 6th, and will be taking a rest before focusing on their group activities.

A Pink Kim Nam Joo Reveals Behind Story of 'A Year Ago' MV

A Pinkmember Kim Nam Joo reveals the behind the story of the "A Year Ago" music video that she filmed with BEAST Jang Hyun Seung and fellow member Jung Eunji.
They released the music video yesterday on their official page and YouTube channel.
Kim Nam Joo revealed that the snow that they used for the shoot was all collected by the staff members exclusively so they could film the video.
An official also commented that the team had other plans for the music video, but because of the unexpected snow, they decided to incorporate it into the video.
This song is included in the 'A CUBE FOR SEASON' second album that was released on January 3.

The idol recently appeared as guest on jTBC’s ‘We Are Detectives’ and discussed about teenage crime. MC Lee Hwi Jae asked Yoseob if he ran away from home to which he replied, “I have experience running away, but mom didn’t know.”

“I did run away, but it turned into me just going out for a bit,” he explained. “I wanted to run away from home, but it was really cold and I was hungry. My sister saw me sitting in front of my house, so we returned home.”
