KARA's popularity leaning on each member

For a music group that want to last long without any big discord or disbanding,  it's good to have a popularity that not excessively depend on 1 member only. A group that only depend on the popularity of 1 member, he/she can maintain the group but it also possible to became a minus.

 

A member that relatively got less spotlight can feel deprivation and the member with high popularity can think "I'm the one who fed and make this group live". Even one of the way to prevent a war between nations is the balance of power. Even one particular nation get more military power the war risk will become bigger.

 

The fact that all 5 members of girl group KARA getting an equal popularity can be felt during the recent Tokyo Dome Concert. This is important because KARA was once facing the danger of disbanding, and the time left of their contract with their company was less than 1 year.

 

Han Seungyeon have great contribution to prevent KARA from getting disbanded after their failure in KARA's 1st album and even revived after that. She is the one who wandered around on making appearance in cable TV and making people know the existence of KARA. However as time goes by both Nicole and Goo Hara also getting lots of popularity while making appearance in various variety program overrunning Han Seungyeon's popularity. Especially  to the extent that some producer want to make 'Ant waist' Goo Hara doing solo.

 

People also thought that Goo Hara has exceptionally high popularity in Japan. But it's not as much as expected. On the day of Tokyo Dome concert, among the merchandise that being sold, the fan that have picture of each members on it are sold out. Instead, Japanese fans  that holding fan with Han Seungyeon's pictures can be seen a lot.

 

On the concert, Han Seungyeon said in Japanese "I had a nightmare that there are no one who came to the concert but i'm really thankful that a lot of people have come today" and be moved to tears while getting great responds from the fans.  On the other side, Goo Hara and Nicole confidently showed their existence through powerful choreography.

 

Park Gyuri showed her singing ability with her solo part which stands out the most between 5 members. However the response for 'cheerful girl' Kang Jiyoung's stage are bigger. They showed responses to each of Jiyoung's words.

 

Kang Jiyoung who wore pink sailor uniform and sang Japanese sports cheering song title "School of Heaven" said "everyone and us are like the two wheels of a bicycle that need both to be able to move forward. I hope everyone and us can keep on become a pair of wheel that running forward." The audience greeted her words with thundering applause.

 

The fact that KARA's members, 5 people gaining even popularity and receiving spotlight equally, it shows the promising future that this group will be able to last long.

Hottest K-pop acts ready for Golden Disk gig in KL

Excitement is building up barely a week before the biggest K-pop event hits our shores.

The Samsung Galaxy The 27th Golden Disk Awards in Kuala Lumpur will be rocking the Sepang International Circuit over two nights next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Founded in 1986, the Golden Disk Awards, dubbed the Grammys of Korea, is South Korea's most prestigious K-pop awards show and is presented annually for outstanding achievements in the music industry.

Hosted by Mediartncomm Co Ltd, supported by the Malaysia Con- vention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and presented by Samsung Malaysia Electronics as title sponsor, the music awards will see 25 of K-pop's hottest acts in Malaysia next week.

The earliest acts will arrive on Sunday night. They are members of the boy bands SHINee and BTOB.

Monday will see the arrival of 10 acts: Exo (in two batches), Infinite (first batch), 4Minute, B1A4, Beast, Super Junior, CN Blue, FT Island, Juniel and Kara.

Fourteen acts will fly in on Tuesday, the first day of the awards. They are Infinite (second batch), Secret, Heo Gak, Lee Ha Yi, Ailee, Epik High, T-ara, Sistar (first batch), G-Dragon, f(x), K.Will, Miss A, B.A.P, and Teen Top.

The remaining members of girl group Sistar will arrive only on Wednesday.

As for the show's hosts, CN Blue's Yong Hwa and Kara's Nicole will be emceeing on the first night while FT Island's Hong Ki and Sistar's Dasom will host the show on the second night.

Fans can expect over 70 songs during the two-night gig, including hits such as Super Junior's Sexy, Free & Single, G-Dragon's One Of A Kind, FT Island's I Wish, Beast's Fiction, 4Minute's Mirror, CN Blue's Intuition, Epik High's Light It Up and Lee Ha Yi's Mamadu.

The main entrance to the venue will be open for fans to start queueing at 2.30pm. The Samsung Galaxy zone entrance opens at 4.30pm for ticket holders to access the red carpet event, which starts at 5pm.

Rockpit and Hallyu zone entrances will open at 6pm.

The awards show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at RM199 (Hallyu zone) and RM999 (Samsung Galaxy zone). Tickets to the Rockpit zone (RM688) have already been sold out while limited tickets remain for other zones.

"Lost much weight" KARA Nicole, recent picture

A picture of Nicole who has excessively lost weight became a hot topic.

Recently on some online community, a picture title "Recently Nicole lost weight and became all skins and bones" has been uploaded. KARA’s Jiyoung steps down from ‘IRIS 2’

KARA’s Kang Jiyoung has confirmed her exit from the long-awaited drama, ‘IRIS 2’.

DSP Media announced on January 8 that due to differences in scheduling and filming, the network and the agency couldn’t see eye to eye on a few matters resulting in Kang Jiyoung walking away from the show.

In the upcoming drama, Jiyoung was originally set to play Song Chae Ran, an undercover agent of NSS. However, she was overwhelmed with her conflicting Japan schedule and ultimately decided to leave the cast.

‘IRIS 2’ is reportedly struggling to fill the vacant spot left by Jiyoung as they open another casting call for the role.

MBLAQ (Thunder) to act with KARA’s Gyuri

It’s time for Park Gyuri and ChunDoong to breathe together in a drama.

KARA’s Park Gyuri and MBLAQ’s ChunDoong were cast as the main characters in the recent MBC drama “Nail Shop Paris” (Tentative title).

For Park Gyuri’s case, this drama is legitimately the first step to her debut in acting. In the past, Park Gyuri has made a cameo appearance in “What is Mom” and acted in a Japanese drama “UraKARA” together with members of KARA. However, this is her first time acting as the main character in a drama.

On the 6th, KARA's 2013 Japan First Concert "KARASIA 2013 Happy New Year in Tokyo Dome" took place in Japan Tokyo Dome.

KARA’s Kang Jiyoung decides not to appear on Iris 2

KARA’s Kang Jiyoung recently made an official announcement that she will not to appear on TV series Iris 2.
On January 8, KARA’s agency said, “Kang has been discussing with the production crew for KBS new TV series Iris 2. But we had a different view and so we decided not to appear.”
“Since it will be her first appearance on a Korean TV series, we carefully thought about what will be the best for the series and her. She decided not to appear on Iris 2 but is keep receiving offers from movies and TV series. We will make a decision very carefully.”
Kang has previously appeared on the Japanese TV series Rainbow Rose.
